On Monday, March 23, a very pregnant mom came to The HOPE Chest of Havana. She and her school age child had just moved to town coming from a not-so-good situation. They had nothing and asked if we could help. Because we have such wonderful donors, we were able to provide some furniture, housewares, linens, clothing and other necessities for her daughter, herself and the expected baby.
The mom was not feeling well that day and I joked with her about hoping the baby wasn't going to be born in the store and she assured me that wouldn't happen.
Well, today she stopped in the store and told me the rest of the story.
After returning to her residence that day she called someone for transportation and within 4 hours delivered a beautiful baby boy.
This is a real story of hope and it is the reason our organization exists. Your donations make a difference in this community and this is proof of that.
